The real secret to productivity is...to listen to your body.
To eat when you're hungry, to sleep when you're tired,
to take a break when you're bored,
to work on projects that seem fun and interesting.
- Aaron Swartz on How to be Productive
Philip Brewer has a point in saying that in order to be productive, you only need to be internally motivated. By doing what you're internally motivated to do, you'll never be more productive than when you're doing what you have a passion to do.
It's another story of course when you need to be productive in doing the dull stuff. A couple of productivity advice from WikiHow could be useful.

You're 100% right on this post... I'm starting to learn that I need to work on other things when I'm feeling bored with my current project, or eat when I'm hungry. I'll just get distracted otherwise. If you have any other tips for maximizing productivity, please let me know...
I'm starting to wonder if you're Aaron Swartz.:) But sure, productivity is one of my favorite topics. Thanks for the comment!
That was a good find, I should have read Nora Dunn's entry when I was still a student specially during my college days.
Didn't you notice that Aaron Swartz and Philip Brewer's tips on "How To Be Productive" is going back to the basics? Simple things "to do": sleep, eat and love what you do.
Most important thing I guess would be: you have to have something to do in order to be productive.
For a full time mom like me, in order to be productive (in addition to what was mentioned above) are: to have our own "me time", take the effort to be a hot mom and always crack out that good heartily loud laugh.
You've said it well, hot mom. The key to productivity is all about the fundamental simple things. :)
And good for Nora coz she has the will to finish her tasks right away. I think that most of us are more of the Andrea Dickson kind. We seem to work best at the last minute or when under pressure.
For me, the key to "productivity"
is enthusiasm, lots of enthusiasm.
Cheers and goodhealth....
I agree with you trublue! And nice to see you here!
For me the main rule is that to be productive you should be focused. As long as you stay focus you stay productive.
Of course. One should focus to finish a task right away and then move on to another.
Personal productivity is one of the hardest things to manage. I find making lists of all my tasks and crossing items off as I complete them helps me stay productive. I get a real sense of accomplishment for each item I scratch off the list.
Thanks for the links! :)
I'm with you on the sense of accomplishment for each item sratched off the list Ashley. Thanks for visiting. :)
